On behalf of the Scientific Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to submit your study as an abstract for the APASL 2026 Istanbul, the 35th Annual Meeting of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver.

In order to submit an abstract, you first need to create an account in the online abstract system. Only after then, you can submit your abstract.

Your email entered in the "Create New Account” form will be your username, and your password will be sent to this email address upon your creation of the user. Please make sure to check your spam/junk box as well as your inbox for this email containing your password.

Also, please add @apasl2026istanbul.org, @dekon.com.tr, and @dekongroup.com email URLs into your safe senders list from the email settings, as all abstract related communications will be made through emails with one of these URLs.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The scientific committee reminds attendees that the material deemed appropriate for presentation should have the following characteristics:

  • Original and new scientific work
  • Chosen abstracts will be presented as a poster presentation
  • Outstanding abstracts will be considered for oral presentation
Abstracts submitters must pay attention to the following:
  • It is the authors' responsibility to submit a correct abstract without any typo mistakes. There will be no editing process on the abstracts, and all accepted abstracts will be published as typed by the submitters. Therefore, please make sure to preview your abstract before submitting it for any typing errors, wrong spelling/writing of the institutions and/or author names, mis-ordering of the authors, etc
  • Generic names for pharmaceuticals, biologic and medical devices should be used in place of trade names. Trade names should only be used if equivalent products from multiple manufacturers are being compared. Capitalize all trade names.
  • Overly commercial abstracts will not be accepted.
  • Only the accepted abstracts with registered presenters will be included in the scientific program and in the abstracts' book, the supplement of the Hepatology International Journal.
  • Accepted and presented abstracts will be published in the "Hepatology International Journal”. By submitting an abstract, the authors consent to giving permission to publish their abstracts in the abstract publication, supplement of the Hepatology International Journal.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
  • All abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Abstract submission system contains steps and abstracts can be submitted following these steps:
  • Step 1 - Author(s): Enter the Name, Last Name, Title/Position, Department, Affiliation/Institution, City and Country information for all authors, and select the Presenting Author here.
  • Submissions may have up to 10 authors and the presenting author needs to be selected in the system. If you have more authors of your abstract, please contact the Congress Organizing Secretariat.
  • Enter the presenting author's contact details. Avoid any typo mistakes here, since entering especially the email address is crucial as all communication regarding the abstracts will be made through this email address.
  • Step 2 - Categories: Select the abstract category amongst the listed categories. Please click here to reach the Main Topics. If none of these topics fit for your study, please use the topic "Other”.
  • Step 3 - Presentation: Select your preferred presentation type amongst the options of Oral Presentation / E-Poster Presentation / No Preference. Chosen abstracts will be presented as e-poster presentation, and outstanding abstracts will be considered for oral presentation. Kindly note that the Scientific Committee reserves the right to change the presentation type according to the scientific program structure.
  • Step 4 - Abstract: Abstract title, abstract text and keywords can be submitted in this section.
  • Abstract titles must be limited to 30 words including spaces, typed in Lower case while the initial of the first word is written capital. The titles should define the topic and must NOT contain any abbreviations and/or any industry-specific words (eg. company or products names, etc).
  • Abstract text excluding the authors and titles must be limited to 400 words including spaces under the below-given four (4) headings:
    • Background / Hypothesis
    • Materials and Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusions
  • Enter keywords as per your preference while separating them by using comma (,).
  • Generic names for pharmaceuticals, biologic and medical devices should be used in place of trade names. Trade names should only be used if equivalent products from multiple manufacturers are being compared. Capitalize all trade names.
  • Step 5 - Upload File: You may upload tables, graphs or images; however, kindly note that these won't be included in the publication as only texts of abstracts will be published. Please upload tables, graphs or images as pdf or word files through this section. If you don't have any tables, graphs or images, you can skip uploading.
  • Please make sure to save your work before logging off. You can save your work by clicking on the "Save and Preview" button. After saving, you'll be directed to the main page of abstract submission system where you can preview your abstract(s), and submit them.
  • As edits are not allowed after submitting your abstract, please make sure to complete any edits and revisions before submitting your abstract.
  • Make sure to submit your abstract before the abstract submission deadline of November 24, 2025.
Review Process and Acceptance Letters

All submitted abstracts will be scored and passed through a review process after the submission closes. The notification letters for the acceptance of the abstracts will be sent in January 2026.

Registration of Abstract Presenters

Kindly note that submitting an abstract does not constitute registration for the congress.

Presenting authors of accepted abstracts must register for the congress latest by February 2, 2026. Failure to do so will result in exclusion from the scientific program and all relevant publications.

Publication of Abstracts

All accepted and presented abstracts of the APASL 2026 Istanbul congress will be published in the supplement of the Hepatology International Journal with journal impact factor of 6,1 (2024) and 5-year journal impact factor of 6,5 (2024).

Awards

Specific awards will be granted for selected, outstanding abstracts. You may find further information about these on the Awards page of our congress website.
